What do I do for college Financial Aid if I have an International Parent

What do I do for college Financial Aid if I have an International Parent?
I am an Alabama resident college student. I'm having trouble filling out my FAFSA online. My mother lives in Germany; she has a US Social Security Number. My father is from the US, but he will not fill-out his income tax information for 2007. I am trying to apply for aid without being labeled as an international student. What can I do to complete my FAFSA without breaking the law?

Answer 1 :
How or where your parents live has nothing to do with you being labeled "International". To fill out the FAFSA, if your parents are still presenting themselves as a married couple and your mother earns an income in Germany you have to convert her income to US Dollars and answer the appropriate questions. If your mother is in Germany because your parents are separated, you do not need her information. http://finance.yahoo.com/currency For your father-if he is not filing taxes but is required by the IRS to file, sorry, you cannot apply for aid. If he is not filing because he is not required to by the IRS, report his income on the FAFSA where appropriate. Where your parents lives has no effect on your aid.

How fun is frat life at Alabama

How fun is frat life at Alabama?
I am from out of state and very interested in going to th University of Alabama. I am just kind of scared to be leaving my friends who mostly are staying in state to other colleges. Alabama to me sounds like a hell of a fun time and wanted to know how frat life is there. I feel like this would be the best way for me to do if I go because it would be way easier to meet new people and have a fun time.

I HAVE A KOOCH
Answer 2 :
He need to figure out (you can help, btw) which college is the best fit for him. Because while I might tell you that, of those, Indiana is the highest ranked (or not), rankings are trumped by fit. He must go where he thinks he'll do well. Cost and etc. does come into play as well. If he's in-state Illinois, for example, you can let that sway you. In terms of most rankings list (because it can be a factor), they rank as follows, top to less-top: - U Illinois Urbana Champaign - Indiana U - U Alabama - Auburn Of those, Illinois is, like, 35 places above Indiana, which is maybe 20 places above Alabama and Auburn. But all are strong schools. U Illinois is a much higher ranked school that the others, though. And then consider his major - if he's engineering, for example, I'd strongly suggest he to go U of Illinois, which is one of the best undergrad engineering schools in the US. So there's a lot to consider. Prestige. Fit. Cost. Etc. You can help him think through all this, but he really is the one who needs to make the final decision.
Answer 3 :
What type of degree is he planning to get? Also, what are his extracurricular interests??? Athletics, etc. I would choose the university that offers the best program for his major and interests.

Answer 1 :
I think this is a question that you should ask someone at the Alabama State Department of Education. I have been in public education for 16 years in Alabama and have never heard of this. I am not saying that this isn't true but this is something that you should research, thoroughly; and what better source than the main source (Alabama State Department of Education). Good luck to you.
Answer 2 :
ask the State! go to the Department of Education.
Answer 3 :
I doubt it - it may be that some students who have significant physical disabilites or who qualify for whatever state disability funding there is might get something but I can't imagine that Dyslexia would be in the mix. I did a quick search of the site and see nothing related to colleges at all - so I would guess the best bet would be the school district's Guidance Counselor or to CALL the Department of Ed directly. I've linked their contact information below.
