does utah beating alabama and going undefeated just go to show that college football needs a playoff system

does utah beating alabama and going undefeated just go to show that college football needs a playoff system.?
I sure think it does. The Utah Utes are the only undefeated team in college football, And deserve a shot at the national title. Which they are not going to get, It's not right, nor fair.

Answer 1 :
ABSOLUTELY!!
Answer 2 :
yes, personally i thought the national championship game should have been utah vs. boise st.
Answer 3 :
It sure does. A playoff system would definitely leave the best team in the country standing at the end. Utah showed they belonged in a bcs bowl game. Boise state did it a couple of years ago.
Answer 4 :
I been wanting a playoffs forever. But I say if there were playoffs you wouldn't see these upsets as much. Teams like Bama get disappointed because they aren't playing for anything, and then you get a team like Utah, and for them playing it means the world to them. If this was a playoff game you would probably see a different Bama team out there. Utah has more motivation FYI... I was rooting for Utah
Answer 5 :
No, it doesn't. Utah was a good team. It just says we severely underrated this team. I like the bowl game system. With playoffs, we'd just see blow-outs after blow-outs. I propose it like this. During the break between the championship games and first bowl games, we have a small playoff. The top eight teams are in. Double elimination. Matchups: 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5. Winners play each other. Losers play. Winner of loser bracket playes winner of winners bracket.
Answer 6 :
Certainly doesn't hurt the argument that's for sure! The Utes looked great last night...and like you said have no shot at the title. USC absolutely dominated Penn State and are in the same boat. With more and more major college coaches jumping on the playoff bandwagon every year maybe just maybe one of these days all these rich beaurocrats that are doing nothing but lining their pockets will actually see the light and give the fans what they deserve. A true national champion.
Answer 7 :
No, u explain to me how college playoffs would work. u think a team like rice or pittsburgh would stand even the slightest chance against a powerhouse like texas, usc, or florida? NO, of course not. with the bowl system the teams always have a fair shot and can consider their season succesful even though they are no florida gators
Answer 8 :
Yes and the USC-Penn State game also shows that we need one USC has played in the Rose Bowl a lot and it is like 2 miles away from their campus and Ohio State two loses in the National Championchip think they didn't deserved to be their and I'm an OSU fan.
Answer 9 :
If you follow high school football you sometimes see that the no. 1 team coming into the playoffs does not make it to the championship game much less win it all. Yes they need a playoff system. If division 1-AA and AAA can do it so can 1-A.
Answer 10 :
Not to say Utah would win the National Championship, but they deserve the opportunity to lose one on the field to one of the big boys! Alabama was THIS CLOSE to getting into the National Championship, then they get their butts handed to them by the Utes. The Utes at least should get the chance to lose to an Oklahoma, Texas, or USC before someone tells them they can't be #1.
Answer 11 :
every year proves we need a playoff system, not just this one instance. someone is always left out. auburn went undefeated as well in 2004 and missed out.
Answer 12 :
No doubt they need a new, updated system. This Bowl Selection, one game opportunity is ridiculous. If they can come up with some sort of playoff format, would be huge, and resolve many contradictions reagarding their present system. For instance take Utah. many said how can Utah go up against Bama. Well they most certainly did, didnt they? Only due to the fact they arent in a mian conference hurts their chances of credibility, and a shame. At same time, Bama has been over rated all season. We all just knew Florida would take care of them and some of their wins werent convincing. Also with what happened in The Big 12, the strongest conference, this year anyway, a playoff format would have resolved many issues and questions. Tech was over rated and that loss to Oklahoma took the spirit out fo them. While Texas losing to Tech just by a few points, but beating quite comfortably Oklahoma, doesnt make sense. Those weeks in between where they are off and readying themselves for a Bowl Game, whould be replaced by playoffs. Simple.
Answer 13 :
The need for playoffs was well established years ago - this is just more proof that the BCS should replace championship rings with crystal crowns and flowers - because the BCS chooses champions like Miss America Pageant chooses a queen rather than like a sport.
Answer 14 :
Actually, yesterdays game between Utah and Alabama confirmed what I had been telling everyone, SEC Conference is overrated, weak and do not deserved to be in any bowls games. The championship game should be played between Utah Utes for going undefeated and USC Trojans(PAC-10 undefeated in Bowl Games).
Answer 15 :
one of many games and many examples that says playoffs

I got my GED, and have applied at University of Alabama for college

I got my GED, and have applied at University of Alabama for college.?
I applied FAFSA and received an EFC of 0. What do I do now? Should I apply for Pell grant, student loans, or what?
Financial Aid - 1 Answers

Answer 1 :
You need to be applying and looking for outside scholarships. Other than that you need to wait on your school to create an award letter for you. Because you have applied through FAFSA you do not need to apply for the pell grant because the FAFSA is the application for the pell grant. The FAFSA will also let the financial aid office know if you are eligible for government loans. You can wait a week or two and then ask the financial aid office if they have received your application and have they reviewed it. Some colleges are quick and others are extremely slow.

I'm in college and was wondering if anyone knew of a good flight school in Alabama

I'm in college and was wondering if anyone knew of a good flight school in Alabama?
Also, I was considering majoring in Aerospace engineering and wasn't sure if that was a good major to go with when trying to become a pilot?

Answer 1 :
Aerospace Engineering is if you want to design airplanes and space vehicles. If you want to be a pilot, major in flight engineering at someplace like Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (campuses in Daytona Beach, FL and Prescott, AZ, but there are dozens of satellite campuses around the country).
