Answer 1 :
well, for engineering, Gtech by far, Auburn second. i cant really speak for anything else
Answer 2 :
Georgia Tech: Rank = 38 Tuition = $4854 (in state), $19914 (out of state) University of Georgia Rank = 60 Tution = $4892 (in state), $17722 (out of state) Auburn and the University of Alabama are way down in the rankings, so I did not include them. Looks like GT is the best value. Then again, it depends on what you want to study and what kind of campus life you prefer. I would much rather go to UGA or Auburn than GT or Alabama.
Answer 3 :
It really just depends on where you want to live. I can't speak on Alabama, but on Georgia I can help. It really just depends on what area in Georgia you want to live - for instance the city or country. Do you want to live in Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, etc.? And what are you majoring in? Once you answer these questions then you can pin point a school that meets your budget.

WHY does EVERYONE think that Alabama College Football is the best in the country

WHY does EVERYONE think that Alabama College Football is the best in the country?
Okay it's getting on my nerves. Everyone thinks that Alabama can beat everyone. People say they could murder Ohio State. Well I think thats bullshit. Im a little pissed because Ohio State did better than Alabama this year!

Answer 1 :
The past, that is all they have left.I have to put up with it 365 days a year.Auburn has beaten Alabama 8 of the past 11 years and we still hear about what happened 40 years ago.All Auburn can do is keep beating them. What they don't understand is talking does not win anything.
Answer 2 :
That was just a phase because they had the top seniors the year they won the National Championship. You shouldn't be hearing much more of that. Plus, they offer the highest scholarships to the top kids.BKB
Answer 3 :
I dont know why you say everyone, I dont think they could beat Oklahoma or Florida State.
Answer 4 :
i dont say that
Answer 5 :
Well I think your rant is bullshit, jk jk :) I don't recall many people saying Bama is the best team in USA, they did lose some really good players the last few years and especially for this coming year (Ingram, McElroy, Dareus). But they do have N. Saban and a solid recruiting class, so I think they'll be very good but not #1 good.
Answer 6 :
Osu played less ranked teams, then Bama did. Maby that's why,but Ohio State could beat anyone in the country.
Answer 7 :
Bama is not the best team in the country but they are very close. They have won more national championships than anyone in the sec most and teams in the country. Its hard to say who is the best. Alabama is right there at the top
Answer 8 :
Well I say Auburn did better than both of those teams combined this year. Can we say Auburn..... National Champs
Answer 9 :
1. i dont!!!!!!!!! 2 .they arent!!
Answer 10 :
Because we are. Ohio State has never beaten the Crimson Tide (4-0). Ohio State plays in a vastly overrated conference. I say this despite my son being a Senior there. If your boys would stay out of the Tattoo parlors they might be able to win the conference this year. RT
Answer 11 :
Bama is overrated they did most damage before modern day football. They only have 7 national championships. In 100+ years of existence.

When moving to another state, from Ca to Alabama, does it affect how you are helped financially with college

When moving to another state, from Ca to Alabama, does it affect how you are helped financially with college?
I've lived all of my 18 years in California, born and raised. Now in May I will graduated from high school, but will maybe soon be moving to Alabama. Will it affect how I will be helped for college when I do move there, in June. How can I get help for college in Alabama and how do I get residency. If I missed anything else, please leave me a message. Thank you.

Answer 1 :
Generally you will want to have lived in the state before applying for college. Why? Out of state tuition is substantially more than in state. Financial aid wise, it shouldn't hurt you too much but for some grants I know are only for residence (those who live in the state, usualy for a set time of 1 year.)
Answer 2 :
First of all, if you are moving to Alabama to go to school, you can't get residency, since states specifically exclude anyone who moves to a place to go to school, unless your parents are moving to Alabama too. In that case, the state looks at where your parents live to determine your residency if you are under the age of 19. If not, you would have to go there and work for a year without going to school to establish residency. As to financial aid, you may not be eligible for state aid, if there is any, but you would still be eligible for any federal aid. Each school calculates that by looking at your needs (which vary, since the cost of school varies from one state and school to another) and how much of that need they expect you to cover, based upon things like your parents' income (this all goes onto your FAFSA form). They then offer you aid to make up the difference.
Answer 3 :
You will need to establish residency. Most states require that you live there is year. But there is a college clause. If you are financially dependent on someone who lives in another state (i.e. a parent) you can not qualify for in-state tuition. Alabama public colleges are not that expensive compared to other state colleges. Bama is great (Roll Tide!!) Auburn sucks (Roll Tide!) but it's a public school too.
Answer 4 :
In-state residency for public colleges in Alabama is determined when you apply to college there, and at that time you must have lived in Alabama for twelve months (your parents must have paid Alabama state taxes last year). So, for at least your first year, you'll be paying out-of-state tuition! Once you're 19 you'll be able to establish residency in Alabama apart from your parents, plus your parents will have lived there for a year, so for your sophomore year you should be able to change your status to resident either of those two ways. BTW, if you have need definitely still apply for financial aid (it doesn't matter with that whether you're an in-state or out-of-state resident)! GOOD LUCK :)
