Answer 1 :
Extended support is for full time students and has to be court ordered.
Answer 2 :
No. Dad has done his duty. Now you need to do yours. Get yourself set up for grants but you will probably need to take enough classes to be considered full time and work the rest of the time. My daughter does this. Get yourself a part time job and grants will help alot. Good luck.
Answer 3 :
Ask your lawyer. But I believe if the grown kid wants to go to college, child support is extended til he/she is 25. However, the grown kid has to show proof that he/she is in fact going to said college. And I do believe you'll have to go back to court, and make it legal.
Answer 4 :
You should probably ask a Alabama lawyer, experienced in this field. Never trust an answer given by a "person in the street". If you make a mistake based upon incorrect information, you may lose the support. In NY State, every county is required to have a law library available to the public for free. The librarian cannot give legal advice, but can tell you where to look. IF AL has a similar law, going to the library may help you prepare questions for a lawyer. Don't make your decision based upon your own research.
